
Tomas Norton
Associate Professor in Sustainable Precision Livestock Farming,

Tomas Norton is an associate professor in Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) at the Division of Animal and Human and Health Engineering (group of M3-BIORES) at KU Leuven. He is an agricultural engineer, with a PhD in Biosystems Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland. His research is about understanding and monitoring the health and welfare of confined animals when exposed to different stressors (environmental, health, management) through sensor technology (mainly computer vison and audio processing). He generally works with non-ruminant farm animals (pigs and poultry) but is also interested in supporting the lives of zoo animals.
