Kubota Corporation has partnered with Norwegian start-up Kilter to promote the AX-1, an autonomous spraying robot for precise weed control in vegetable crops. The AX-1 uses AI and Single Drop Technology to apply herbicide with 6 mm accuracy, reducing chemical use and minimizing soil impact. The pilot, initially for crops like spinach and strawberries, will expand in Germany and the Netherlands. The AX-1 aims to replace manual labour, improve crop quality, and comply with EU regulations on low-risk herbicide use.
